WiMAX Modems In The Network Coverage And Indoor

WiMAX enabled the convergence of broadband networks and mobiles through a single access technology throughout the area of radio and flexible network architecture. Since January 2007, the IEEE 802.16 Working Group is developing a new amendment to IEEE 802.16 (ie, IEEE 802.16m) as an advanced air interface to meet the requirements for 4G systems ITU-R/IMT-advanced and for the next generation of mobile network operators.

With the internal WiMAX traffic access to over 80% of total traffic WiMAX, WiMAX operators are faced with the urgent need to improve indoor coverage. Unlike the belie f that WiMAX modems are only variables in the WiMAX subsystem, this paper analyzes how the WiMAX modem can play an important role to play in the subsystem, in particular in improving indoor coverage.
